Doctrinal Statement

The Scriptures

The bible is a collection of historical literary works, all written under the divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit. We believe that all scripture is God-breathed and therefore self-sufficient, self-attesting, authoritative, and completely inerrant.

2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Peter 1:20-21; Romans 16:25-26

The Trinity

God exists as one divine being in the form of three separate persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All three persons are co-equal, co-eternal, and co-sovereign.

Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16-17

Jesus Christ

We affirm the divinity of Jesus. Jesus is the second person of the trinity and was God incarnate in the flesh. He is both fully man and fully God, and has always existed as an eternal member of the holy trinity. We believe Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life on this earth so that by his death and resurrection we might be justified and reconciled with our creator, the one true God.

John 1:1-5; Hebrews 1:1-4; John 8:58;

Sin

Sin is rebellion against God and His ordained will. No man apart from Christ has ever lived a sinless life. All men were conceived in sin, thus inheriting a sin nature. For this reason, no man is capable of meriting salvation for himself.

Psalm 51:5; Psalm 58:2-3; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12-19; Ephesians 2:1-3

Salvation

We believe salvation comes by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is not by our own works or righteousness that we are saved, but only through the atoning work of Jesus on the cross. It is our firm belief that Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven. Salvation is a total work of the triune Godhead -- the Father draws, the Son saves, and the Spirit seals, so that no man may boast in his own works.
